Is my document uploaded?
No. There is no upload step and no server that could receive the file — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads that pay for the site — and no request carrying your file, because there is no endpoint to carry it to.
What resolution should I choose?
The multiplier is relative to the PDF’s natural size, where 1x is roughly 72 DPI. Use 2x (about 144 DPI) for screens, and 3x or 4x if the image is going to be printed or cropped into.
PNG or JPG?
PNG for pages that are mostly text, diagrams or flat colour — it stays sharp and has no compression artefacts around letterforms. JPG for photographic pages, where it produces a much smaller file at the same apparent quality.
