Is my photo uploaded?
No. There is no upload step and no server that could receive the file — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads that pay for the site — and no request carrying your file, because there is no endpoint to carry it to.
Why is there a wait the first time?
The AI model itself has to be downloaded — that is the one-off cost of running it on your device instead of someone else’s server. It is cached afterwards, so the second image starts immediately.
Is the result watermarked or lower resolution?
No. You get the full-resolution cut-out with no watermark and no paywall between you and it — which is the difference between this and most background removers.
What kind of images work best?
A clear subject against a reasonably distinct background. Hair, fur and semi-transparent edges like glass or veils are the hard cases for every background remover, on-device or not.
